To get to Brownsea Island, you need to get a Ferry from Poole Quay. Pool Quay is the historic part of Poole; most of Poole is post-wat building, as a result of damage sustained by bombing in WW2. Here are some of the historic building on the Quay

The Customs House
The Poole History Centre is housed in the Town Cellars, a medieval wool warehouse dating from the 1300s. It has impressive stone walls and a magnificent timber roof. The Centre is a rich resource about Poole’s heritage. From here you can research local and family history using its extensive library and microfilmed and digitised material.
